MARCEY'S VINEYARD

When we decided to look for grapes, we did it by word of mouth. In a small town like Calistoga, once you put the word out your likely to find what your looking for. Lucky for us it was over a pint at the local pub. In the Summer of 2007 we stumbled upon Jack and Marcey Smith who own a lovely property in Calistoga. They have a small vineyard and had been selling their Cabernet grapes to Chateau Montelena for years. Their contract expired the same year we wanted to make wine, and our dream of Napa Valley Cabernet was realized. We loved Jack and Marcie from the start. They are kind folks who tend their vineyard with love and respect using organic farming practices. Their philosophy mirrored our own. To make the best wine, focusing on the vineyard source, with simple, natural winemaking methods.
